Viewing habits are shifting from traditional TV to the internet. With their 2 million strong customer base and broadband service, it was time to add video and develop a brand-new IPTV service.

eir is the incumbent provider of fixed-line and mobile telecommunications services in Ireland.

The objectives.

To become the first Irish operator to provide quad-play bundles

for customers by adding TV. This required developing an attractive video

proposition and securing the best commercial terms for linear TV

channels.

  • Evaluating the best sources of content to deliver the proposition
  • Creating a business model and managing eir’s budget.

The results.

eir launched their IPTV service in 2013, fundamentally changing the TV landscape in Ireland. We helped eir broadcast over 30 channels across Ireland. We added a further 19 to the service post-launch, with no extra cost to the consumer.

The service continues to innovate and grow.
